In excellent condition, customized and fully operational, this Sony PS-LX2 is an early 80's semi-automatic, direct-drive turntable with Quartz Servo Lock.  It's a solidly reliable unit with a  full array of features including real walnut veneer accents to give it added visual appeal.

Although most turntables that appeared in the 80's sometimes seem similar with their slimmed down design, this PS-LX2 is certainly not a cheap unit. 
Designed entirely in-house by Sony, it has flawlessly smooth performance at a basically modest cost at the time of its release.  Its main feature was Sony's tried and true Linear torque BSL (Brushless and slotless) motor.  This was (still is) a superior and extremely quiet design that was also used in Sony's much more expensive turntables.

The straight pipe tonearm has an excellent Stanton 500/II Gold cartridge with a gently used Stanton D5100-AL/II stylus.  Checking the stylus with a jeweler's loupe, it appeared as almost new with minimal wear on the tip.
